Chrome-mas

Shiny things just hit different in the glow of Christmas lights, and chrome is having a major moment this holiday season. The Chrome-mas trend is a natural evolution of summer’s playful and rebellious ‘Brat Girl’ vibe, but with a festive twist. Where Brat Girl Summer brought us bold, unapologetic fun, Chrome-mas ups the ante with sleek, futuristic surfaces that feel fresh and unexpected for the holidays. Think: reflective home decor that channels 'space age chic' and accessories that give you an out-of-this-world aura. Whether it’s ornaments or cocktail glasses, the high-shine finish will have you glowing brighter than your tree topper.

  • Chrome decor + 3,756%
  • Chrome charm necklaces +104%
  • Chrome glasses +40%

Mythical Medieval

Channel your inner ‘castle era’ with luxe pieces like copper gifts and wall art fit for royalty. Rich, dramatic fabrics—like velvet and faux fur—paired with fantasy-inspired elements such as folklore motifs and goblet glassware, give your home and wardrobe a regal, timeless feel. This trend taps into the escapism we’re all craving, letting you step into a fairytale world where opulence reigns. Jewel tones take center stage, adding depth and drama, from deep sapphire blues to rich ruby reds—and with a popular witchy musical set to bring back emerald green in a big way, magic is definitely in the air. Whether you’re hosting a feast or simply want to elevate your space, this trend will make your holidays feel straight out of a storybook.

  • Chunky jewelry +85%
  • Mystical medieval or goth wall art +24%
  • Folklore dresses +19%

Our obsession with Western style is riding strong this holiday season, with cow prints making a comeback in a big way and emerging as a surprising new neutral. Originally spotted on the runways, this trend has quickly made its way into our homes and closets—and it’s here to stay. As people seek fresh ways to express their individuality, the rustic charm of cow prints adds warmth and depth, making it a perfect fit for festive decor and thoughtful gifting. From statement rugs to cozy accessories like cushions, throws, and even stockings, the trend offers a touch of ‘yeehaw’ in a chic, understated way.

  • Western tote bags +406%

You’ll find personalized pieces for everyone, from initials to astrological symbols—and it’s all super giftable.

In a world of fast fashion and fleeting trends, there’s something undeniably magical about the things that stick around. Enter the Heirloom Era, where timeless treasures and vintage-inspired finds are stealing the spotlight. Whether it’s hand-embroidered napkins, jewelry steeped in history, or patterned porcelain dishes that channel a certain fictional pasta-making grandma, this trend celebrates meaningful gifts meant to be passed down (or just looked at adoringly). A standout new heirloom? Christmas Eve boxes, which saw over 1M searches on Etsy in 2023. This fresh holiday tradition allows for layers of personalization, making it the perfect way to give a gift that says "I see you.”

  • Vintage style items +181%
  • Vintage gold jewelry +79%
  • Personalized pet portraits + 80%

Trending tools

Here are a few trending tools and marketing techniques you can use to help promote your Etsy shop:

Cutout stickers

Use Instagram to create custom stickers of your listings to feature in your stories and reels! In your stories, tap the sticker icon, select the Cutouts tool, and trace around the item you want to feature. When you’re ready to add it to a story, select the sticker icon.

One idea is to make a trending gift guide with stickers of your favorite listings for a fun promotional moment! Check out our tutorial on our Etsy Success Instagram to see how it works.

Engaging video content Videos are also an important way to make your brand more personal. When you create video content, you’re showcasing the person behind your shop and your brand. This helps to form more meaningful connections with your audience and potential buyers.

Point of View, or “POV” videos are popular on social media currently. You can film a video demonstrating a specific scenario, and add a caption that frames the perspective of the viewer. Here are some ideas for POV video content to get you inspired:

  • Give a studio tour: Take the audience on a tour of your studio space and the tools you use to create your items.
  • Show your process or behind the scenes: We’ve seen these types of videos perform well for us on the Etsy TikTok account. Remember, you can also speed up your videos to show a timelapse video of your creation process while keeping viewers engaged. Check out an example.
  • Pack an order: Show your buyers what it looks like when you pack an order. “Pack an order with me” videos are a great way to engage with your audience and give buyers a behind the scenes look at your process. Check out an example.
  • Tutorials: Tutorials are another great type of content that can add value for the viewer and help drive engagement, positioning you as an expert in your craft or genre. In addition to being useful, incorporating ways your items can be used within tutorials can help potential buyers imagine how they might use them in their own life! Check out an example.

Listing videos

Listing videos are an impactful, wonderful way to help capture eyes and interest. Try filming your personalization process, highlighting each step to show the care you take to make every gift special. End the video with a reveal of the finished item. Or, highlight your unique gift wrap items like stamped paper, stickers, bows, ribbons, and customized tissues. Show off any special techniques you may have—gift wrapping is hard!

To learn more about creating high quality videos for your listings and social media, RSVP for our upcoming seller workshop at etsyup.com.
