There are countless places to shop for gifts this holiday season, but we believe none are as special as Etsy. Etsy is already the destination for unique, handmade, and one-of-a-kind items lovingly created or curated by small businesses. This season, we hope to bring the joy of Etsy to more buyers than ever by making shopping with us more inspiring and reliable than ever before.

I'm excited to share a few ways we are making it easier for buyers to find high-quality items at great prices, all while giving the peace of mind they'll arrive in time for your holiday gift exchanges and celebrations:

• We’re making it easier to find the best of the best. With more than 100 million items available on Etsy, we need to make it easy for buyers to discover and shop from the best possible listings from independent sellers. That’s why we’ve recently grown our team of style experts who are focused exclusively on expertly curating Etsy’s Picks, representing our standards for quality, reliability and style 1. We expect to expand the number of Etsy’s Picks tenfold by the end of the year, meaning buyers will have more guidance and inspiration throughout the shopping experience across key categories. We’re also using this library of human curated items to help train our machine learning systems, so we can better identify and elevate even more of the best items our community has to offer.

• We’re doubling down on deals, earlier than ever. Etsy shoppers already know about our annual Cyber Sales Event, and this holiday season we’re making it even easier to discover the best deals offered by sellers in a personalized deals hub rolling out now only on the Etsy app. Here, we’re curating items on sale for holiday gifts and all year ‘round, including items from shops buyers already love, and sellers they have yet to discover. And to kickstart the season, we ran our first-ever site-wide sales events in September and October, allowing buyers to explore our marketplace so Etsy sellers are top of mind when holiday shopping begins.

• Gifts delivered on time – or your money back 2. One of the most essential parts of online holiday shopping is feeling confident your item will arrive when you expect it to. As part of Etsy’s Purchase Protection program, shoppers will get their gifts by their estimated delivery dates or get a refund for qualifying orders 3. During the holiday season, we’re also expanding protections for sellers by covering the cost of refunds on more qualifying orders so even more sellers can keep their earnings in the rare case something goes wrong with an order 4.
